(“Comfort Heating & A/C, LLC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy.
This Privacy and Cookie Statement explains what personal data we collect through our website, www.comfortheatingbillings.com (the “Site”), how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over your data.
This Statement is written to align with the Montana Consumer Data Privacy Act (MCDPA), Mont. Code Ann. § 30-14-2801 et seq. We have adopted these practices voluntarily as a matter of good faith, even where the law’s applicability thresholds may not require it.

Comfort Heating & A/C, LLC is a locally owned heating and air conditioning company based in Billings, Montana. We use the Site primarily for marketing, lead generation, and customer communication. We do not process online payments or appointment scheduling through the Site.

2. Personal Data We Collect
We collect personal data that you voluntarily provide and information collected automatically when you visit the Site.
Information You Provide
- Contact details: name, email address, phone number, mailing or service address.
- Service request details: information you submit through contact forms, quote requests, or other inquiries (e.g., type of equipment, description of issue, preferred contact method).
- Communications: messages, comments, or feedback you send us.
Information Collected Automatically - Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, time spent on pages, and clickstream data.
- Cookies and similar technologies: see Section 7 below for details.
- Marketing and targeting data: publicly available or commercially available information used to deliver and report on advertising, including ZIP code, approximate age of home, age of unit, and homeowner age range. This data is used to direct ads to relevant audiences and is not used to identify you personally.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data (such as health, biometric, or precise geolocation data) through the Site. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
3. How We Use Personal Data
We use personal data only for purposes that are reasonably necessary and proportionate to delivering our services and operating our business, including:
- Responding to your inquiries, quote requests, and service requests.
- Providing, maintaining, and improving our services and the Site.
- Sending administrative communications, service updates, and marketing communications you have not opted out of.

4. How We Share Personal Data
We do not sell your personal data for monetary consideration. We share personal data only as needed to operate our business and deliver services, including with:
- Service providers (processors): vendors that operate the Site, host data, deliver email, run analytics, manage advertising, and handle customer relationship management. These vendors are contractually required to use the data only to perform services for us.
- Marketing and advertising partners: platforms that help us run digital advertising campaigns, including audience targeting and conversion measurement. Some sharing of online identifiers (such as cookie IDs) with these partners may qualify as “targeted advertising” under the MCDPA. See Section 6 for your opt-out rights.
- Legal and compliance: we may disclose personal data when required by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of others.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets.
We do not engage in profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects about you.
5. Data Retention and Security
We retain personal data only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When data is no longer needed, we securely delete or de-identify it.
We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Privacy Rights
If you are a Montana resident, the MCDPA gives you the following rights regarding personal data we control:
- Right to know and access: confirm whether we are processing your personal data and request a copy in a portable format.
- Right to correct: request correction of inaccuracies in your personal data.
- Right to delete: request deletion of personal data we have collected from or about you.
- Right to opt out: opt out of (a) the sale of your personal data, (b) processing of your personal data for targeted advertising, and (c) profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
- Right to appeal: if we deny your request, you may appeal our decision. We will respond within 60 days. If your appeal is denied, you may contact the Montana Attorney General’s Office of Consumer Protection at https://dojmt.gov/consumer/ or by phone at (406) 444-4500.
How to Submit a Request
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information in Section 9. We will verify your request using information already on file. We will respond within 45 days, with one possible 45-day extension where reasonably necessary.
Universal Opt-Out Signals
We honor universal opt-out preference signals, including the Global Privacy Control (GPC). If your browser transmits a recognized signal, we will treat it as a request to opt out of targeted advertising and any sale of personal data for the browser or device on which it is enabled.
Non-Discrimination
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your privacy rights. We will not deny services, charge different prices, or provide a different level or quality of service because you exercised a right under the MCDPA.
7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We and our service providers use cookies, pixels, tags, software development kits, and similar technologies (collectively, “cookies”) on the Site. Cookies are small data files placed on your device that help websites function and collect information about how you use them.

10. Changes to This Statement
We may update this Privacy and Cookie Statement from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective Date” at the top. Material changes will be communicated through a notice on the Site. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Statement.
